Wiksten is named for Jenny Gordys grandmother, who is now 92. They were both much younger when Grammy taught Jenny how to sew, but those lessons left Jenny with a life-long love that she now channels into her collection. From washing her fabrics (at least three times!) before she starts to work with them to cutting patterns and kicking the cats off the sewing table, every step of Wiksten is done by Jenny, by hand. She works primarily in natural linen and cotton, and has an eye for delicate gingham, stripes, plaids and droll floral prints that she then crafts into clean and classic silhouettes. Jenny has studied at the University of Kansas and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She now resides in a sunlight-filled house in Kansas City with Sophia, Seymour and Joe (Sophia and Seymour are the aforementioned cats; Joe is the husband). From here, she works, watches 80s movies, and keeps track of all the projects and friends that she makes through her blog,
